![]() | About Daniel 'Peters' Perskawiec is a Poland born artist, performer and arranger currently residing in Northern Ireland. His musical journey started back in 1989 when he first picked up the guitar that had been around. As a young boy he performed live on numerous occasions, playing popular styles of music. At the age of 12 he started receiving professional guitar tutoring from Jaroslaw Adryanczyk and subsequently from other musicians. Inspired by John Coltrane, Piotr Stanko he took some clarinet and saxophone classes, but after 3 years of studies this chapter closed. "Any time I learn a different instrument I try to implement what I have learned to the guitar - It is so inspiring," he says. He was frequently a participant and tutor at many blues/jazz workshops and seminars. He came to Northern Ireland in 2005 and since then he is a workshop tutor, guitar teacher and facilitator. In 2007 he received the SIAP funding from the Arts Council towards Hindustani music studies through Sitar. He has become deeply inspired and fascinated by the music by learning from Nick Able, one of Ravi Shankar's disciples. In 2008 he became a musical director for Kreative Konnectionz, an interdisciplinary theatre company. Watch the interview on youtube. "Musicians that I admire are often unknown to the public, but from my early inspirations I often mention John McLaughlin, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Scott Joplin, Scott Henderson and Shakti. Now, however, I'm fascinated with ethnic and fusion stuff like, T. Gurtu, A.Shankar, Atma, Karbido and many more," he admits.
